Lockout and other things...

One of the reason's I always disliked living by myself is locking myself out. My current apartment charges $200 on the weekends if you do such a thing. My old apartment, my landlord lived on the second floor and never charged me. She was great and I lived there for a long time until it was my time to go.

Last night, I locked myself out. It did not help that women change bags and I am one of them. Because I had a smaller bag than usual and I was wrestling with the recycling I forgot my bag. Plus the type of lock at work is the one that you do not need a key to lock the door. So once I closed the door shut, I then realized, OOPS I need my keys. Not only my keys, my wallet and cell were all in there. AIYAH moment! Luckily it was 7:30pm and I rationalized my sis would be home.

WRONG! The one day I want her to be on time from work, she is held over and got home an hour later. I was outside for an hour and it was cold last night. (Not as cold as Saturday night-you merely stand for a minute and you feel the hypothermia coming.
Why is it that things are bad all come at once. Earlier had a warning letter and a quick turnaround time was needed to respond to the letter. (I just finished it and talked to the person who did the interview.) Now we do not get fined $100. (A definite incentive not to dally I must say!)

Luckily, after my last lockout, I decided to make a spare. I am SOOO glad I did. As my boss is not State Side and it would not have looked good to inform him that ---oh I can't go into work so for the next two weeks I will from home. (Umm not in this world anyways.) It would have been an ugly situation if I had to tell him the bad news. Plus I thought I brought the spare and I did not. Since I live so close to home, I had to go all the back and got the "real" keys. Luckily the ice is melting and not solid as a few nights ago.

Side note, big THANKS 謝謝從我的心 특별한 감사 to JI! You rock and are awesome! You are truly a life saver! The time I saved enabled me to edit the labels, fold the cards and stuff some envelopes! (Much better use of time than retyping the holiday card list!)

One good thing, I got my new duvet cover and down comforters! (Pretty speedy delivery from Overstock.com) as I had bought it the last week on Monday! I can give the down comforters to my parents then! They are looking forward to getting them!

The holiday party I am planning is slowly coming together. From a bit of panic end of last week, we are looking pretty good. I am excited about the a cappella group coming to perform and the food! It should be a great and fun event! It is tomorrow night! Four months of planning all for tomorrow night and it will be a great night!
