Holiday present from my boss

As any worker bee drone, I have had my fair share of different bosses. From my father, to supervisors at various jobs from work study (in college), internship (Harvard Medical School) to full time positions post college, I have spent the holidays with many different companies.
Appreciation to employees I have usually seen were holiday cards, holiday pay, year end bonus and a nice holiday party from the various companies. But I have had two bosses or supervisors with stick out for being very cool. Granted, you should not be judging your boss based on what you receive but in the span of a holiday present, I was happy. For me, ultimately being appreciated as a colleague for my efforts is very important and not to be taken for granted.
So the presents from previous boss have been cooking oils, Coach Wallet, and $50 gift card to Cheesecake Factory. This current boss has been really cool. I got a digital camera (first one to ever own) and this year got a lovely scarf and Coach bag. Frankly, I am happy with a nice meal and being appreciated but the present was a lovely gesture. Last year's camera has been well used! I have taken a ton of photos in ONE year.

My boss' wife chose the bag's style.

I still love my Canon PowerShot 650 which now is considered old. So fast is the digital camera industry with the newest and hottest models.

But seriously the most important present I can get is good health! Without it, nothing is possible-work, volunteering, traveling etc because I would be unable to do the things I want to do. Though I am recovering from a cold, I am happy with how my life is right now. It is not perfect, I have my pressures from job, life, home and family but it is good to try to balance everything and remain positive!
